Warner Bros has gone pretty quiet on Gotham Knights ever since its official unveiling this past August, but now Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars: Squadrons writer Mitch Dyer has announced he's been working on the project.
Taking to Twitter, the former IGN editor revealed the news, highlighting that the team at WB Montreal is "making something really special", and he can't wait for fans to learn more about the game in the future:
Dyer also highlighted a number of additional people on the narrative team in a follow-up tweet, including lead writer Ceri Young (Assassin's Creed Syndicate) and narrative director Ann Lemay (Watch Dogs: Legion).
There's no release date for Gotham Knights as of yet aside from "2021", but we do know it'll be a two-player co-op (or solo) game, featuring a plot in which Batman is dead, and the Batman Family is forced to step in to protect Gotham.
Looking forward to the release of Gotham Knights? Let us know in the comments below.

All of a sudden I have no interest in this game.
Lol he's the dude who listed all of the gender pronouns of the fighter pilots in Star Wars.
@Dezzy @Johnnel
Yeah, my interest in this was already close to zero, now it's there.
Whatever dudes, I’m super pumped for this game. Batman is my favorite superhero franchise, and this game looks like it will be a ton of fun. Probably not Arkham-level amazing, but any 7 or 8/10 Batman (universe) game is more than enough to get me excited. Day 1 purchase for sure.

It's my favorite superhero universe as well but aside from the NES game and the Arkham trilogy never been too impressed with Batman video games and this one definitely seems middle of the road. Add a mediocre writer and I'm just not seeing anything here to be hyped about. Only positive I could think of is they're at least focusing on other Batman characters but I'd have preferred a solo Batgirl adventure from the Arkham team.
@Gamer83 The TellTale and Injustice games are pretty great as well. That’s like what, the last 9 Batman games in a row to have been good to amazing. Pretty good track record I’d say. I’m sure GK isn’t exactly going to set the world on fire, but I still feel optimistic that I’ll enjoy the time I spend with it.
@everynowandben
Well, hopefully for those of you looking forward to it the game lives up to your expectations.
