Just bought a Series X in 2020...

Still have my OG Xbox Crystal, XB360 Slim with Kinect, OG XB1 with Kinect, XB1S Gears 4 edition and XB1X Project Scorpio - all bought before 2020 so only needed the Series X.

I got lucky and snagged a Series X. My last console was the PS3 and that was a few years into the launch of it. I've been loving how great this thing runs and I'm a massive fan of gamepass. Its perfect for me.

Series x for me and enjoying every minute.
And Game Pass Ultimate, as well.

I got a series S because I couldn’t get an X. I wanted to try out Game pass. Game pass is amazing and I’m delighted with my purchase.

I bought an all digital S early this year, I love it!

I ended up buying two Xboxs in 2020! Firstly, I bought the limited edition Cyberpunk Xbox One X back in the summer. I knew this would probably be a short term investment, but I loved the look of it. Then in November I managed to snag myself a Series X...which I absolutely love! I’ve played on it almost everyday since!

I picked up the Gears 5 Limited Edition Xbox One X!

Yes, bought 6 of them 4 series X and 2 series S! Spreading gaming love!!

Got my first ever Xbox in Series X and I love it to bits.

Looks like we need some more series x stock

@Kefka2589 yup same, all sold at retail or even at a loss. No one should have to pay double for something for their kids especially after the year we've all had.

I was wavering due to fun’s being tight but as a surprise my mrs bought me a Series S which arrived today and i am amazed. I have only owned a Switch for the last nearly 4 years which I love and am not complaining about but yikes.....Amazing.

Xbox One S, it is a great little game pass machine. Games still looks great on it. And it was cheap.

Not in 2020, but I plan on buying a Series X or S in the Spring of 21. I'm hoping by then the stock shortage won't be an issue, and I could find one relatively easy.

XBox Series X. Put the ol' XBox One S into a little tub in the basement to join all my previous consoles. A bit like a scene from Toy Story...

Well, I don't know where the hell people get the money from to be able to buy several consoles at once, but for me financially, it just wasn't a priority this awful year, so I haven't been able to buy one.

And even if I would have had the money, I still wouldn't have bought one, seeing as I'm never an early adopter, so I'll let the new console alone for a while, until it has a decent enough library, and perhaps a minor price drop as well, seeing as contrary to the Xbox One, I intend to go for the premium model this time around.

I bought the Series X And wow what a console!!!

Also got a Series X (first console I bought at launch too) and so glad I did!

Still can't buy a XSX

Can’t find one so decided to wait until infinite came out to get one. Even if they don’t have a halo edition one I’ll be okay. I got to the point where I stopped begging to buy a $500 console from Microsoft and Sony and just accepted waiting on both. Besides my one s is still running great and game pass works just as good. I do crave MCC on XSX though 😔

@Kefka2589 has your daughter gotten her S yet? Or is that still in limbo?

Got the Series X and enjoyed it from day one. Been catching up on a lot of Xbox one games I missed and playing Yakuza which is honestly brilliant.

Looking forward to what this console can do in the future.

@Kefka2589 agreed completely! The clips I got of kids opening up consoles I helped their family get was worth so much more than a few hundred bucks. Was honestly the best gift I got this year!

I've got some money saved burning a hole in a tub because I can't buy a series s in-store anywhere and I refuse to buy one online. I did see a Series X though behind some glass at CEX for £650. Looked nice.

I already own the 360 & Xbox One. And the Series X is very hard to come by & I refuse to pay scalpers. I’ll just wait to until they are readily available in stores.

I do really want an OG Xbox again though just for my collection. I want to kick my own @$? for trading it in to get a 360 back in the day. Now I’d have to go on EBay & pay god knows how much for one in the condition I want it in.

Edit - I’ll vote original Xbox because I may buy one in January & that should still count. Lol.

Yup, Series X on day one.
No Pre-order, and no issues.
Now enjoying GamePass, the expansion card (SSD), and a load of affordable games that have been on special (also from 3rd party sites).

Extremely happy with console after running Sony hardware over the past couple of generations (plus PC).

I got a Series S but outside of a brief stint on Cyberpunk, I think the most modern game I've played on it is Resident Evil HD. As a retro console its actually pretty fantastic with its auto HDR, all I have to do is wait for games to actually be made for the thing

I voted Original XBOX & XBOX 360 as i have the games but still don't have the machines yet. 😅
And these are my XBOX and XBOX 360 games.

Pre-ordered a Series S (which arrives tomorrow) when things were looking dire for getting an X, and ended up stumbling on an X at Target last night. So I guess I own both now? Lol. Oh well, I can use the S for a second room / kiddos.

Edit - Feels so good to have my library back. Owned OG Xbox, 3 different 360s, and an XB1 (which I wasn’t a fan of over the PS4 - interface was sluggish comparatively) that I sold to a friend when I thought I was going to get a 1X. Glad I just waited and got the Series X, so smooth and awesome! Missed my Fables and Fallouts sooooo much!

Exactly! I always traded in ALL of my old systems to get the new system.

Like you said...... NES, SNES, Genesis (I even had Sega CD & 32X! 😂), PS1, Saturn, N64.....the list goes on. The toughest one was my Dreamcast. I loved that console!!!

I have owned every major console (non handheld) ever created except for the Wii U, PS4, & Switch. And like I said, I even traded in my OG Xbox! 🤦‍♂️

My collector in me just wants my OG Xbox back, so I’ll have a complete Xbox collection once I get the Series X.

But yea.......it drives me nuts! Young Keltic spent too much $ on 🍺 and women. Damn Irish genes. 😂 ☘️

yes in 2020 i bought a limited edition halo 4 Xbox 360 CIB , i also bought a limited edition gears of war 5 Xbox one x, and to start the 9th gen of gaming off right i bought an Xbox series x and a hoard of accessories to go with it

and I'm also planning to buy a special edition original Microsoft Xbox halo green console CIB to add to my collection hopefully by the end of January

I would probably buy a Series X if they were available, then again I have been in no rush.

I will not consider to play my XBOX and XBOX 360 games on XBOX Series X for 3 reasons :

1. The machine design and color scheme itself in my opinion looks atrocious. What the heck was Microsoft thinking about ?

2. The Online checking and licence updates are killing my interest. No thanks, i want disc emulating based Backward Compatible like playing Wii games on Wii U directly by inserting the disc.
XBOX ONE and Series X still have NO BC with All my XBOX and XBOX 360 games because they are DDR, Kinect games and Casual games, they are not really famous but i really like them. Microsoft don't like my games choices as Casual gamer so i will not buy XBOX ONE and Series X.

3. The price of the machine is really cut throat. No deal for a price tag as expensive as the newest Apple tablet.

I will consider two machines only (XBOX and XBOX 360) and it's done, no more following next XBOX machines. Next XBOX machines still not allowing me to play DDR, Kinect games, Hello Kitty game, Barbie games, Casual games by Backward Compatible.
I already have 7 Nintendo games (GBA, NDS, 3DS, Gamecube, wii, Wii U, Switch) and 5 Sony games (PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP) and they are my main video games.
XBOX games are just only little addition for my collections, as minor part.

Here’s my quick story. I had mine pre-ordered I GameStop Ireland not long after they started taking orders, and put down a €50 deposit. When the consoles were eventually released to the public, I waited day after day, checking my inbox hour after hour just waiting to see if I had got one. Eventually it got to a point where I got fed up waiting (first world problems, yeah.) and was contemplating buying an Xbox One X instead as they aren’t too far apart performance wise. So I took a trip to CeX and got hold of a second hand one which was ok, could of been in better condition what with all the scratches and markings, but it wasn’t the worst I had seen. And then here’s the part which made me wish I listened to my missus who told me to wait. Literally an hour after buying the One X, a good friend of mine who used to work in Currys called me to say they had about 8-12 of them all lined up that weren’t pre-orders, you could just walk in and grab one. I had never got up more quickly and drove to that store in my life, my heart was racing. So i got there within five minutes and they had 3 left. I go up to the cashier and asked if I could still purchase one, and he said he’ll check in case they aren’t pre-orders. He went away and came back, and sold it to me, and I walked out feeling like I had won the Lottery, haha. I had always wondered why ever since they had them all of a sudden, I jokingly said to my missus that they’re probably all defective ones, haha!

@Anti-Matter lol Not sure what the issue is with the design; its smaller than the PS5.

The price is also fair for the specs provided and all those games you mentioned are super niche.

I don't like the cuboid shape from XBOX Series X. Looks very horrible and unattractive. PS5 Fat looks way more stylish with White and Black color schemes, looks like a White jacket and Black shirt.
Also, i don't even like Black color from XBOX series X. I want White color and always White color rules because i want my video game consoles looks like kid toys with White color and some of my pictures i pasted on it.

My XBOX and XBOX 360 games maybe niche for some peoples but they are my BEST games i can choose since i am a huge fan of Dance Dance Revolution games. You will never understand how deep is my love for Dance Dance Revolution games.
I have dedicated my life to play DDR for 17 years and still keep playing DDR no matter what situation will be.
I have memorized the stepcharts of 3 DDR songs and could play them without seeing any arrows, yet i still remember those stepcharts despite long time no play DDR during pandemic.
I have managed to obtain AAA scores for some songs, the highest score on DDR games with achievement between 99% - 100%.
I'm very serious with my dedication for DDR, no joking.
I have interest with Casual games too like Wii Sports or Wii Play so i picked some Kinect games that suitable with my taste.

I'm totally fine to not consider XBOX ONE and Series X, definitely not a good machines to play DDR, Kinect games, Girly games and Casual games. I just only play those kind of games, nothing else.

Got my One X for xmas last year and loving it. I'm not buying an Xbox (or any console) day one again. I got a Day One XB1 on release day. WIth the price drop just two months later and the kinect fiasco, I made the decision to wait in future.

Picked up a Series X and PS5. The controller on the PS5 is a blast on Astro’s Playroom. Other than that, the Series X is my go to. I can’t imagine gaming without Game Pass again. I’ll let my son play Fortnite on the PS5 until Horizon 2 drops

Bought both new gen consoles this year. Spent a year trying to convince myself that my Nintendo Switch was all I needed, but a string of passable ports and the only games really performing well being first party Mario titles, felt it was time to buy some real gaming machines.

If you are hellbent on a 360 (which I adore mine and still love it) just be careful and stick to the newer models.

Also the good news if you do want to swap between a Kinect machine and an XSX your save file can move automatically with you.

A Xbox One X for me this year in February along with 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate, it's an amazing console and Game Pass great value for money....
Will be getting a Series X down the line once the exclusive games start to roll in.

I'm positive like Girly games, DDR and Kinect games.Totally positive because i also have another girlie games on Nintendo machines such as Cooking Mama NDS & 3DS, Imagine series NDS, Style Savvy 3DS, AKB48 + Me 3DS, JS Girls Doki Doki Model Challenge 3DS, Maho Cole Mahou Idol Collection 3DS, Hannah Montana the Movie PS3, Para Para Paradise PS2, etc. Nothing wrong for a 36 years old man playing girly games with pinkish color, fashion things, cutesy things, upbeat Eurobeat songs, rainbow and cupcakes, etc.
Also, i have quite a lot Dance Dance Revolution games on PS1, PS2, Wii, XBOX and XBOX 360.

My PlayStation machines are White and Blue color (PS2 Slim Japan White, PS2 Fat USA White swapped, PS3 Slim White, PS4 Slim White, PSP 3000 Blue ).
My PS2 Fat USA was originally Black color, but i asked the video games repairman to swap the body shell with White color.

My four Nintendo 3DS XL machines are White (1 Pink White Old 3DS XL, 2 Pearl White New 3DS XL USA & Japan, 1 White Black New 3DS XL PAL Fire Emblem edition)

My Wii also White color, except my Wii U is Black color. I still haven't cover my Wii U and the Gamepad with other color shell.

My Nintendo Switch Joy Cons are White and Neon Blue, but the dock and body tablet are still Black color. But later i will swap the Black dock with White dock ACNH edition. Adios Black color.

No new Xbox for me this year. My plan now is to pick up a series X next Christmas.
I did buy a PS4 this summer but I returned it two days later, so not counting that.
I also took my og xb1 apart, cleaned it out and put in an ssd this year, replaced the fan in the power brick too, so I don't mind waiting another year.

Xbox One X in june, robot white, love the thing. Game Pass loaded up until the middle of 2022. My games backlog on this thing just keeps growing.
May get a Series X end of next year. Don't think I'll bother getting a PS5 for a long time, happy with the PS4.
