Happy Xbox Series X|S Launch! Have You Received Yours?

On it's way. I shoehorned everything onto my USB SSD last night from my Xbox One X. Looking forward to trying out a few games tonight.

Going to pick up my Series X from curbside service in about 2 hours. Very excited to jump in. Already preordered Assassins Creed after trrading in my one X.

My Series X is being delivered in the next hour can't wait.

I've already got mine 😎 Love the compact size, UI speed (SSD rocks) and the fact I don't know what to play first! Thanks MS and Game Pass 😁

Wasn't able to get one on the original pre order release. Finally managed to order one today though via Very. Super happy to be getting it before Christmas, can't wait!!

My Series S just arrived - my first-ever Xbox! Super excited to dig into the xbox back catalog.

No, I cancelled mine (and PS5) 2 months ago when there were no games for me on it.

Still waiting from Game UK, it went into packing last night 17:39 and money taken.
But no despatch update yet.

Microsoft have let me down, it's not getting delivered until tomorrow. 🙁

Q) Have you laid eyes on your Xbox Series X|S yet?

A) Oh yes, and it's a beautiful system... too bad I can't play games on it yet as the installing is taking ages (our house's boarder is downloading the latest Destiny 2 update which is probably affecting things). Still, it has otherwise booted up just fine and was an easy process to set-up. Everything is super smooth now and a heck of a jump from my classic Xbox One.

Within a couple hours I hope to be playing Yakuza: Like A Dragon on it. I hope everyone else if having fun with their Xbox Series X/S!

Everywhere is sold out, so I probably won't be able to get one till later this year sadly.

Not yet I’m still waiting 😅 hopefully gets here soon and I can start downloading some games.

Today the new generation begins with Series X and Series S coming first and receiving critical acclaim 😁. My Series X is on its way and will be delivered today or tomorrow, apparently.

Incredible console. I also ordered a battery charger pack and they instead sent out a Robot white controller? Which has also happened to a friend of mine. So not a bad win haha

Out for delivery with UPS "by the end of the day" - not too much of a problem since I'm working and then have to go shopping. I suspect it'll be close to the weekend when I'm fully set up and actually playing on it

My series X should hopefully be here in the next hour.

It's officially shipped from Memphis but won't be here until tomorrow. I'm able to wait another day

Mine arrived around 11 o’clock this morning 🎉🎈🎊 have completed initial set-up, and am now in the process of transferring some games from my external hard drive to the internal SSD, and doing game updates - it still could be a few hours till I actually play anything! The console itself is pretty compact, and heavier than expected. The only slight downer today is that my copy of AC Valhalla didn’t arrive in the post. Saying that, I still have the likes of Dirt 5, Watch Dogs Legion (looking forward to seeing ray-tracing in action for the first time) and Gears Tactics to play!

Both X and S arrived via UPS just after 11am.

Hi there fellow gamers. Happy Xbox Series X/S day!
Hope everyone gets their console in time and enjoy it to the fullest. ACV looks pretty fun, even more if you are a viking fan.
I´m very excited to get my next gen system on November 19 (PS5 for me).
These are exciting times with brand new and powerfull gaming systems, that will indeed, power the devs dreams and our own dreams as well. Can´t wait to see what Microsoft games studios will create for this beast of a machine.

It says that my TV supports 120fps at 1080p and I just googled it and it says most 4k Tvs actualy can do 120fps just at a lower resolution... Is this true bevause I am sure we have all been lead to believe you have to pay through the nose for a new TV that does 120fps

@J0rspe that's brilliant, me too. I actually ordered a white controller and they sent a black one and then the other delivery for two battery packs I got two white controllers

I picked my Series X up about an hour ago. Game updates downloading now.....

A few random thoughts so far:

• It is much smaller than what I expected
• I used the app setup which was simple, fast and painless
• It copied all my settings from my One X which made my life easier than having to reconfigure everything
• Microsoft's download servers seem to be holding up fairly well at this point. I was expecting downloads to be slower than they have been
• I moved all my Xone games to an external SSD ahead of time and they were all instantly recognized after connecting the drive
• Setting the external device as the default location downloads Xone games to the external and X/S games to the internal. EDIT: This behavior seems somewhat inconsistent. Maybe it depends how the game install is initiated? Sometimes it puts on the internal and sometimes it warns that if I proceed it will install it to the external but it won't be playable from there.
• If you have an Xone game that has an X/S upgrade. It shows up as an update and automatically moves it to the internal drive as part of the update. EDIT: It seems to leave some of it behind on the external as well. I wonder if the Xone version is still there.

@StylesT I am not sure that "most" 4K TVs can do 1080p/120 but many of them can. Some only support it on certain ports.

It is more common in current models than in earlier 4K models.

I’m still waiting on UPS. My dream of having it this morning and downloading some gamepass games is over 😭 I just hope I don’t get it later on tonight!

UPS seem to be stuck in some kind of time loop... But apparently I will get it before 7pm... 🤬

Mine is about an hour away now, and AC Valhalla turned up also, IM READY!!!

For me it is a good news/bad news situation.

The good news is:

• My XSX is in my posession
• It is up and running with all the updates installed
• I just finished downloading Valhalla and all the X/S games I couldn't download on the Xone.

The bad news is that I have to work for the next 6 hours.

Overall, I would say the good outweighs the bad.

On it's way...probably shortly....very very shortly...... So is it weird if you run out like an excited puppy and run in circles around the delivery person making squealing sounds while breathing heavily? That's weird right? Should I avoid doing that? They probably understand though.....

Quick tip if you’re using your Series X vertically - the discs go in the opposite way round to the Xbox One! I had a panicky moment when it didn’t recognise my Dirt 5 disc! Tried it the other way round and it’s fine. So basically the disc goes in with the printed side facing left.

It's here!!! Next gen officially begins for me now! XSX and 1TB NVMe have arrived (the other X arrives tomorrow.) Package retrieved. Hands washed. Packaged moved a foot and a half. Hands washed again. Now I get to stare at my brown box of XBox all day long......alllll daaaayy loooong.

I also managed to not require a restraining order from the delivery person to the best of my knowledge. Which is good.

Now I have to sit down and actually think of where I'm going to put my XBox. I have to disconnect the old machine(s), and need to relocate my ex-XBox to place my XBoxX.

Received my Series X this afternoon unpacked it and carried out day one update. Formatted my sata ssd now downloading games, but it’s time for work!

Problems with Xbox live here in the UK. Shiny new toy and can't play with it!

Well, it arrived but.........

The first game I wanted to play was FH4. Started downloading it and it got to 50GB and then just disappeared! No sign of it anywhere. Had to start again from zero so doubt will get any gaming tonight now

Was so happy when I got a pre-order in back in September, had a few friends (that don't have credit cards) ask me to try and order them one today, well I ended up getting them all one! 5 in total and they were easy to order this time unlike the pre-order mess. So that made the pre-order not so lucky and more unlucky is that theirs will arrive before my pre-order from a month ago lol

Got my brand new Series X with a shockblue controler (love this color !) , Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin's Creed. Yeah, thanks to Ubisoft for saving this launch from the delay of Halo Infinite

Received my series s today. Loving it so far.

Finally got to test run it. All i can say is "wow". A few oddities here and there. But the process was painless (you really need fast internet though...). Tried ori, planet coaster (some framerate issues but i expect it in the genre), horizon 4, sekiro... Everything just runs so we'll! The machine is so much tinier than pictures make it look, as well! It's cute!

So far, it's just fantastic! Watch dogs and yakuza next. No valhalla for me until official word on that bug. Maybe fenyx will replace it in my lineup.

@ryu_niiyama controller update! The sticks seem like the exact same modules with the same parameters as x1 late era (bt) models. If you liked or hated them, the same will apply. Bumpers and face buttons are also the same. Triggers feel altered. Less travel, more resistance. Easier control for analogue. The ergonomics are very subtle, almost indistinguishable visibly. But it feels soo good in hand. They nailed it. Basically the same, but the angles, curves, and textures were slightly refined, perfectly. I have 2 Elite v1 around... I'm not even sure i want to use them now.

Rumble feels stronger and more detailed. Maybe not ds5 level... But not far from switch? Trigger rumble is more articulate as well. The didn't advertise changes there but it's easy to feel it's there.

The dpad.... Oh my.... This might be the best dpad I've ever used. The elite previously held that position second only to snes. This takes the elite dpad, shrinks it, and deepens the curve so it cradles the thumb. Played ori 2 and cuphead, good hardcore dpad tests,and it's sublime. We've come a long way from the 360 CDi wannabe stick of a dpad. Xsx may be my go to platformer box now. Well see what ds5 brings. Switch dpad is....eh...

Shame it lacks gyros still. If it had that it would be a 9.8/10. Without gyros i give it a 9, artificially bumped by every other controller having more obvious basic flaws.

Got mine at noon today. Everything smooth as butter so far.

My Series S arrived yesterday morning at 9.01am
Very happy with it so far. Love the small form factor and everything is nice and quick.
PUBG has taken up most of my gaming time so far. For a game that was so janky on X1, it runs really well on Series S.
120fps Gears5 this evening after work!

The pre orders sold out too fast for me to get one. My wife tried to get me one yesterday, but we're not the camping outside a store type, and it seems every store had a long line of customers that camped out for one. So now we wait.

Got mine yesterday, and when setting up my video options, I am proud to announce my screen does support 4k/120. It was in question with certain reviewers as they could get it to show 4k/120, but the XSX seems to pick up that it can support those settings. Now we just have to see how many games can actually run at 4k/120!

@themightyant I agree with the familiarity thing. While in some senses it is convenient that it is familiar, the lack of a new interface makes it feel like less of an upgrade than it is.

Auto-HDR isn't enabled for every game. It is pretty striking in some titles. Of course, you need the a combination of the right game and a TV which does a good job with HDR to be noticeable.

The more i use it the more i like it. I haven't touched elite more than an hour since i got it.

It's already confirmed for pc, but I'm not sure if you need the one with the usb receiver or not...

I have not yet. Even though it shipped on launch day from a place one hour away. FedEx had literally been as stupid as humanly possible with it by leaving it at warehouse locations for extra days and never delivering on delivery days. Yesterday, they delivered me someone else's package instead of mine. Now, it says it should come today again. It's like pulling teeth to be able to talk to anyone for help. Then when you finally get past their dumb robot, you just get a person who looks at the tracking and is like "well the tracking says it's on the truck to arrive today". Yeah, I know that. It's said that for 2 days already and your idiot driver just gave me someone else's package! Seriously, FedEx can you suck anymore?! They just guaranteed I will never use them again.
