The eagerly anticipated expansion for Cuphead has been delayed until 2021 following the on-going coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement to fans on its Twitter page, Studio MDHR confirmed that it has "made the difficult decision to push back the release of The Delicious Last Course."
The developer stated that it isn't "content for this final chapter to be anything less than [its] best work", but due to the global situation, development has been "extremely challenging".
While no confirmed date has been announced, the developer believes "it will delight the Cuphead community " the way it originally intended.
The Delicious Last Course will be a continuation of Cuphead and Mugman's adventures from the base game, becoming a conclusion to the original game. It's a shame that it's been delayed, but if it needs more time to cook then we're happy to wait for another incredible product from the team.

Normally I take delays rather well but this one stings a bit. After purchasing the game at launch for Xbox, it seems the studios priorities have been the Switch and then subsequent PS4 versions. Now presumably they're developing the DLC for all three versions at once, alongside the animated TV show for Netflix as well. Maybe if they focused on the DLC for Xbox, as originally advertised we'd have it by now. Mildly irritating.
I had forgotten this was even still coming out since it’s been so long.
