One of the games that was notably absent from yesterday's list of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launch titles was Marvel's Avengers, and now we've got an official reason for its absence.
Unfortunately, Square Enix has decided to delay its next-gen enhancements, explaining that the team needs more time "to deliver a next-gen experience showcasing all that this game is meant to be."
That version will now arrive sometime next year ("more details to come"), but the game will nevertheless be playable with backwards compatibility beginning November 10th on Xbox Series X|S, benefiting from improved frame rates and faster loading times, as well as cross-gen multiplayer.
Disappointed about this, or is the delay a good thing? Give us your thoughts down below.

No surprise here as the current gen versions are a buggy mess that players are dropping the game left & right.
Maybe they can get the game turned around like Destiny did. Or maybe it’s the next Anthem. Who knows at this point?
They should have followed the idea of Spiderman (PS4) and made a great campaign game then build up on that with a separate GaaS experience. I doubt they can turn it around.
Truly disappointed.. I know the game is kind of a mess right now but I was looking forward to playing on the 10th
@Medic_Alert I’ll give you three tries to guess, but the first two don’t count.
I'll still not be buying it, didn't like the whole exclusivity thing with Spiderman... That's just me being huffy
Whaaaat ? Nooooooooooo
I've just bought the damn game to be my first "Series X" experience ! I was so proud to look at the box the words "Xbox Series X" "Smart Delievery" and "Optimized for Xbox Series X"
Aaaaaah.
I guess they are trying to give themselves time to attempt a second launch.
It will still fail most likely. Damage is done. You wanted a live service phenomenon, and didn't stop to think about what you were going to offer to live up to that.
I hate to say it but this is probably the worst game I have played this year. The bugs were significant, story was average and I had no interest in the online elements yet they were forced into the main story which watered it down. This game needs a lot of work to fix the literal thousands of bugs it still has. It is unlikely i would want to use up 60+GB on my new SSD unless the changes are significant.

@BrilliantBill from what I read so far, the campaign is actually very good.
It’s just the GAAS part of the game that is disappointing to the people.
I don’t care about that part so I’m fine with having bought the game.
I only played a few hours, all I need is the resolution to stay at 4K, then I’m happy. So I’ll be continuing once I get my PS5.
