Ubisoft has pulled back the curtain on its post-launch plans for the upcoming Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which includes two major expansions and a whole bunch of free seasonal content.
Let's start with those expansions. The first is called Wrath of the Druids, which will take you on a journey to Ireland as you entangle and try to unravel mysteries of an ancient druid cult, available in early Spring 2021.
The second, coming in Summer 2021, will have you explore a war-torn Francia as you encounter historical figures in The Siege of Paris. Both of these expansions will be included in the Season Pass, which is included with the Gold and Ultimate Editions of the game.
Finally, Ubisoft will be making free seasonal content available to all players "throughout the journey of Assassin's Creed Valhalla," starting with the Yule Festival in late 2020. These free updates, four of which are planned for the first year, will encapsulate new game modes, events, new progression, skills, new gears, new adventures and gameplay.
"Uncover the secrets of a mysterious ancient cult in Ireland, lay siege to the massive city of Paris in Francia, and discover the true story behind a monstrous legend. New epic adventures await you with the Gold or Ultimate Editions of Assassin's Creed Valhalla."

This is starting to sound like games as a service type content.
Can’t wait for this. I’ve already preordered the Gold edition. Between this and Cyberpunk you can give me all the lockdowns you want Boris!
I didn't do good on AC Origins, and sorry of regretted it, so went gold with AC Odyssey.
Reckon gold is a must for me on ACV, looks good content
I just can't wait to play this game. I just can't.
So close and so far away at the same time !!
@KelticDevil It's not drastically different from Odyssey, 2 DLC arcs and a lot of minor daily quest content to earn odd currencies to get skins. For the most part, it was optional content.
Kinda regret not preordering the gold, but I can always buy the season pass day one.
Looks very interesting!!
I am getting the standard game as part of a shop bundle with my Series X and must say, I may have to add the Season Pass too.
They aren't 'games as a Service' so much as standard games with extra DLC content that is 'optional'.
@Tharsman
Thx for the info! I wasn’t a huge fan of the old Assassin’s Creed games, but I want to get into these new ones. It almost seems like they made them into open world RPGs with a story.
@KelticDevil Starting with Origins they started taking a bit of an inspiration from The Witcher 3.
Origins was a bit more RPG-like, open world, but very linear quests.
Odyssey added more choice, but for the most part, it was "kill or not kill."
Valhalla sounds like it will finally be much more closer to Witcher 3 in that a quest my start sending you to kill rats, and turn into a Tax Evasion scheme (making up examples of weird twists.)
@Tharsman
Once again, thx for the info! I was going to start with Origins, & it seems like that is the right idea based on what you said. 👍🏻
These games really have a staggering amount of content. I was overwhelmed by Origins. So much so, I can do without this one for now.
