It's almost time for the return of Gamescom! This year, the event will take place in the form of a digital show, and will be kicked off with a two-hour Opening Night Live stream this Thursday hosted by Geoff Keighley.
We already know that Xbox will be a part of Gamescom this year along with a huge range of major publishers including Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and Bethesda, and now Keighley has revealed a bit more about what we can expect to see during Opening Night Live later this week:
As you can see, the event will highlight at least 38 games from 18 publishers across the two-hour runtime, but Keighley has since clarified that the stream will focus primarily on announced titles with just "some" new game announcements, with the reveal of the DOOM Eternal Campaign Expansion already confirmed.
We'll be covering the show as usual later this week, so you'll be able to hang out in the chatroom and follow our live blog while watching the stream! The show begins at 11AM PDT / 2PM EDT / 7PM BST / 8PM CEST on Thursday, August 27th, and you can check out the full multi-day Gamescom schedule over at the official website.
What are you hoping to see during Gamescom Opening Night Live? Let us know in the comments.

Awsome, Can't wait to see what they reveal..
Personally, what I really want to see more than anything is actual game-play, preferably at least a 5minute slice of actual game-play - not a 'montage' of cinematic game-play shots and cut-scenes - but an actual 5 minute plus slice of game-play as we would see it if/when we buy the game.
Also, I want to see 'actual' game-play running on 'actual' next gen consoles - not a PC set to 'expected' hardware spec - but actually running on the hardware. Apart from some current games already available, I don't think we have seen any actual new games running on an actual Series X console.
MS have been much more open and forthcoming about their new console, but Sony have shown 'some' game-play running on their upcoming PS5 so are 'ahead' in that area as far as I am concerned.
As for what titles, I don't really know. I could say games like Cyberpunk for example but I think it would be more helpful for me to see actual game-play of games that are not on my 'must by' to maybe give me a reason to buy.
I can’t stand GK, but at least he is trying to temper expectations here a bit.
I am excited for the Doom DLC, of course. But my expectations are quite low when it comes to new reveals.
Hopefully a release date for the console versions of Gears Tactics and Flight Sim. Xbox Game Studios stuff does seem to generally appear at Geoff's events and only 2 upcoming games have release dates (Tell Me Why and Wasteland 3).
