EA has confirmed that it is working on the next entry in the Skate series. The company noted this as part of EA Play Live 2020, explaining that it has "a long way to go, but we're stoked. And this is just the beginning."
Here's what Game Director Deran Chung had to say about the announcement:
"We've been waiting years, honestly, to make the right game, at the right time, with the right idea, and we're really, really pleased to say that we're here. It is really early... We really can't wait to bring you guys in and have you be a part of it with us."
The most recent entry in the Skate series was all the way back in 2010 with the release of Skate 3. That game remains highly popular to this day via Xbox backwards compatibility, so we're guessing a lot of skateboarding fans will be very excited indeed by this announcement!
Hyped for Skate 4? What do you want to see from the game? Let us know in the comments.

I was hoping for a new Mirror's Edge but this is even more unexpected. And in a good way too. May it turn out well.
There is a god! 🙏
Nice! This and the new Tony Hawk games will be awesome !
This should've been SO hype! After waiting all these years they totally botch the reveal. EA really are awful 😣
Of course I want Skate 4, but 'revealing' it like this? Dumb f's. They don't respect the franchise and will f' it up with microtransactions, season passes and nonsense. Calling it now.
There’s a section in game informers good, bad, and ugly page where a pro skater was confronted by ea to be part of a Skate mobile game. He denied them because it was disrespectful to fans. I hope they scrapped that mess.
