EA has been singing the praises of its partnership with Disney and Star Wars in a recent "fireside chat," revealing that it's planning to "double down" on making Star Wars games (thanks Gamespot).
CEO Andrew Wilson highlighted that both Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 have sold around 35 million copies combined, while Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and mobile game Galaxy of Heroes have also enjoyed excellent sales figures.
Additionally, he pointed out that although the upcoming release of Star Wars: Squadrons in October is targeting a smaller market than Battlefront 2 and Jedi: Fallen Order, he remains confident it'll be a success:
"We've had success in first-person shooters, in RPGs, in action adventure, in MMORPGs, in mobile, and I believe we're going to have success with Squadrons as well... "We're going to double down on that partnership. Disney continues to be very very committed to the IP and to the canon."

The proof will be in the pudding as they say. They got off to a disastrous start with their games. That said, they are definitely getting there. Battlefront 2 is now actually fun to play and decent. Loved Fallen Order and Squadrons looks decent. They're on an upward trajectory at least (that said they started as low as possible after Battlefront 1 and 2's launch)
Fallen Order 2 please
Bit late in the 10 year licensing deal to do that now isn't it EA?
@FragRed itβs EA, they will figure how to get that lockdown renewed. π
Not a fan of this. I'd much rather the floodgates be opened and allow real competition.
While were at it, it would be nice if Disney would allow there to just be two Star Wars timelines. The old expanded universe and the new Disney Wars.
People aren't that stupid, Marvel and DC have had alternative time lines for literally decades. It's not a hard concept to grasp.
I want my New Jedi Order game!
"Disney continues to be very very committed to the IP and to the canon."
Are you kidding me?! π¦
