Nothing essential for me yet, although a new WRC game is always nice.
Outriders looks like alot of fun..
Everwild? The new Rare IP?
@Tarps Hasn't been confirmed for Xbox Series X yet (still listed as an Xbox One/Windows PC game). It's very likely on the way, of course, so I might add to this with a rumoured section in the future.
@FraserG fair enough yeah I guess XO19 was still only focused on Xbox One games
I am hyped. I am excited.
Oh yeah, it's all coming together.
Huge list! I am excited to see what is NOT on the list yet. 😁
There's nothing on this list so far that really calls to me so far... Same for PS5's expected list so far.
But XboxX planned backward compatibility has me leaning toward MS this time. Unless Sony announces PS3 support.
Suggestion: segment the list by release year?
Would be a lot more useful to just see what’s coming in 2020, have an idea what’s coming 2021, and mostly ignore the rest for now 🙃
@Tharsman We can do that! Leave it with us and we'll get around to it in the near future.
The original list only had around six or seven games in it, so it's somewhat grown out of control.
Anyone else hoping that the July event isn’t “only” first party? I know that will be the focus, but I’m really hoping for a true e3 style event (albeit digital) which means they either need like 20 first party games to tease and/or show off, or they need to add in a few more third party games so as to avoid a short presentation. Maybe Avengers? More Cyberpunk?
There's a ton of games but probably my number one is Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. It's a console seller to me.
currently the Xbox is doing just enough things right that I'm very happy with sticking with MS for next gen.
@xMightyMatt14x Im sure there will be some third party stuff. And Sony upped their ante on how to present things, presentation seems to matter more than tangible info.
I mean, Sony got away with showing tons of stuff that likely won’t show up till 2022, and people still got exited.
One thing I’m expecting for sure on that reveal is pricing. Watched an interview with Phil Spencer last week and he did mention July is when we might be expecting to start placing pre-orders.
On release day for me the series x is starting to look more appealing than the PS5, we know we have Halo and I’m 90% sure we will get Forza 8. Additional I can plug my external SSD into the series x and have all my Xbox one games ready to play also with slight enhancements guaranteed, also my elite 2 controller and if want some more super fast series x memory buy an additional 1TB card that I know will work.
Sony on the other hand with the PS5 are being all a little quiet about additional features, my son who is a big PS4 fan boy even said Sony pulled a PR stunt with their showcase over Spider-Man, he thought he was getting a full new game, not a remaster with an added Miles adventure part. He seems a bit disappointed over that.
@Iron-Ninja Hopefully in time, but it's not something we're working on just yet. Focusing on the site as a priority for now.
@Iron-Ninja Ratchet and Clank art style make it hard for it to shine graphically, but it was the only game shown that shows us a crazy thing that can be done only if you ditch support for spinner disks entirely. The instant jump between planets was impressive.
Also impressive was the amount of physics driven geometrical particle destruction in the shootout level. Makes me think how insane a Lego game could look if it was exclusive to next gen.
Totally of topic, Xbox one x has been £260 in the UK for about a week and sold out at that price everywhere, Argos, smyths toys and Microsoft store etc.
I Now a good few people scrambling around trying to buy one at that price and can’t.
Why don’t companies get their act together and make sure there is enough stock.
Microsoft could sell lots more at that price right now, which leads to more games and peripheral sale and more games pass members. The games business always seems to do this with spot sales.
Made a few changes to this list, but obviously it's still a bit bunched together for now until we get some more confirmed release dates. Hopefully it's a bit clearer either way!
@FraserG thanks for the reorg! Much easier to plan my Holliday buying spree now 🤓
60+ games now, that list will no doubt increase greatly after the event later this month....
So many good sounding games! I don't think I could ever pick just one!
Over 60 new games and over 40 free remasters for launch. I know that Sony paid for Street Fighter V marketing and that Capcom said that the game wouldn't come to other consoles but they also said that there wouldn't be more editions and they have released two: Arcade Edition and Champion Edition. It's possible that Street Fighter V gets the Definitive Edition on PS5 and Series X 😁.
@FraserG potentially annoying request for the next update, only if its not too much trouble, can there be an additional note by the title to denote console exclusivity, for the titles we know?
Thinking like:
Halo Infinite - Holiday 2020 - Exclusive - Smart Delivery
Watch Dogs: Legion - Holiday 2020 - Multi-Console - Smart Delivery
Everwild - TBD - Exclusive - Series X
Stalker 2 - TBD - Timed - Series X
BTW this article is fantastic and keeping it bookmarked now, since it is getting updated! Thank you for not just making a new article with every update 😅
That is a ton of games!! I would like to buy some individually but Game Pass will have me set for awhile so by the time I pick something else up maybe it'll be on sale!
@BlueOcean I don't see that happening but who knows..I'm not the biggest SF fan. I had SF4 and it was ok, but I just enjoy the faster paced "in your face" style of Killer Instinct which I hope they bring back. It'd be nice to see SF back on Xbox though. SF4 was on sale for like 75 cents last week!
@BlueOcean At this point they might as well want to work on Street Fighter 6
@FraserG You can also type "Xbox One" next to the cross-gen games, few first-party games were presented as Series X and Xbox One games yesterday: Halo Infinite, Grounded, Everwild... These would be the cross-gen games.
@MAC26 Killer Instinct is great and the third game got all the characters eventually! My only complaint about the last game is that the blood and effects are over-the-top and there's no blood slider in the options unlike Killer Instinct 1 and 2. I find the blood and effects too distracting in KI3.
@Tharsman @BlueOcean Leave it with me, I'll see what I can do.
This article is inevitably going to get harder to update as the weeks roll on now (with lots more titles being revealed), so if anyone spots anything we've missed, please let us know!
First off, thank you for making such a handy list separated by release date. Companies as of late haven't been at confirming when stuff is coming out and it helps a lot with planning and knowing what to purchase.
Q) Which Xbox Series X games are you looking forward to?
A) My top three would be Balan Wonderworld, Bright Memory Infinite and Fable... which are either 2021 or To Be Dated.
For the 2020 (and I assume launch line-up) releases, Yakuza: Like A Dragon has my interest the most as the moment and will probably be what I pick up alongside my Xbox Series X.
Right now, I'd say I'm curious about Halo Infinite, Dirt 5 and Forza Horizon 4 (didn't that one already come out; is it getting a re-release or is just a case of owning the already own game and getting it enhanced?) Halo Infinite would be quite fun to play with my brother, so it all depends on if the game has local co-op. I found the developer interview about Dirt 5 from the Inside Xbox video this year quite intriguing and the Forza Horizon games have had me curious for a while but I've never taken the plunge to buy one.
As for the rest, these ones have me curious to varying degrees: Avowed, Cris Tales, Everwild, Gods & Monsters, Scarlet Nexus, Skeletal Avenger, Song of Iron, State of Decay 3, Tunic. I need to learn more about them before considering.
