Update (Thu 21st May, 2020 14:30 BST): Microsoft has confirmed that the games in this list will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on May 29th. We've updated the table below.
Original Story (Sat 16th May, 2020 13:30 BST): Yesterday saw the removal of various games from the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, and now the official app has revealed more titles set to leave in the near future. The likes of the critically-acclaimed Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, insane sports game #IDARB and racing title Hydro Thunder are amongst them.
Microsoft hasn't announced an official removal date for these games yet, but we're anticipating they'll leave at the end of the month (May 31st). Discounts are likely to be made available for all titles in the near future as well, but nothing is live on the Microsoft Store at the time of writing.
Here's the full list of games leaving Xbox Game Pass in the near future:
Date | Game | Platform |
---|---|---|
May 29th | #IDARB | Xbox One |
May 29th | Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons | Xbox One, PC |
May 29th | Hydro Thunder (Hurricane) | Xbox One, PC |

Seems to be more titles than usual dropping out lately. I think it's fine as they're still adding plenty of titles and high quality ones as well.
@roe I agree that they’ve been dropping a lot of titles every couple of weeks- more than they used to anyway.
Since I have Brothers and Old Man’s Journey on my playlist I’ll make sure to play those before they leave- luckily they are both short and it shouldn’t be hard to accomplish.
Sad to see Hydro Thunder go. Will have to but that at some point. Own enough copies or KOF98 for that one not to hurt too much.
@KratosMD Ah fair enough. Could be I'm just more aware now since this site has started up again haha
Luckily I own Hydro Thunder Hurricane, I will have to play Brother's though before it leaves.... The other's are not much of a loss to me...
Brother's A Tale of Two Son's is currently just £2.99 in the sale for another day if you want to pick it up...
@TheNewButler Yeah that's a possible reason. I've no problem with them dropping any games anyway fwiw.
The service is still fantastic value even if the biggest titles were only on there for a month or two. They've been advertising it as over 100 games but last time I counted it was over 200 on console alone.
Along with being against the concept of streaming games in of itself, you can add this “removing/rotating games” downside aspect that goes along with this service also with NOT ever really owning the game in the first place to my list of reasons for NEVER subscribing to game pass or PS NOW! Ever...Just my opinion but I’ll bet many agree. Now...If it came with the price for Xbox Gold for $60 a year....maybe then I’d bite 🤔
Got mine for £27 for 14 month. No brainer at that price, and I don't even play on Xbox. I now have to wait until he goes to bed to play on it
Game Pass is still the best deal in gaming. 👍🏻
Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons for £2.99 now.
