The Xbox Series X is very much on the horizon, with the device having been unveiled thoroughly in recent weeks, and still currently targeting a Holiday 2020 release date. However, as of yet, no official price has been quoted for the system. We'll be updating this mini-guide when more information is revealed (by Microsoft) regarding the price of Xbox Series X, but for now, here are some quotes and titbits about what we know so far.
When Will The Xbox Series X Price Be Revealed?
Microsoft has yet to announce an official date of when the Xbox Series X price will be revealed. That said, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer commented on both the price and potential pre-order reveal date of Xbox Series X in a recent interview with IGN, suggesting the following:
"The pre-ordering will - we don't have a firm date for that, but it'll come later. Later in the summer I think."
As for the price itself, Microsoft is again keeping its cards close to its chest for now. Phil Spencer has commented on matters regarding the price and the desire to "remain agile", and later talked again to IGN about just some of the factors that go into determining price:
"We know that the value of the console has to be there. We have certain people who are looking for peak performance and they want to be there day one, [for] other people this is just one of the things that [is] discretionary income that they use to entertain their family. I also think we would just be remiss if we didn't talk about the economic realities that could be here next fall... I think there's a lot of things that all of us are probably watching right now as we think about the right price and the right offering."
There's a chance the Xbox Series X could be delayed given the many work issues surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, but if everything stays on track, we're guessing pre-orders could begin somewhere around July or August. As for the price? It's anyone's guess, but somewhere around the £450-£500 mark seems likely.
When do you think the Xbox Series X price will be revealed, and what do you think it'll be? Tell us below.

I don't expect it to launch this year, the global economy is going to be in a very bad state when this passes. Depending on how the economy is there could literally be no desire for a £400-£500 video game console.
Blinx game at lunch?
@SuperNintendoMii I too expect some kind of delay but I don’t think it’ll be a huge delay. More expecting a delay caused by manufacturing problems bought on by factories being currently closed and a lack of new software being ready on time (though Phil Spencer did say that wouldn’t delay launch, I think it will).
I don't know if it will be delayed but there could be some shortages of stock. However, if the economic climate isn't the best for a LOT of people, they may not be looking to buy Day 1 anyway and therefore there may not be too many shortages either.
If people are not going out, Consoles could do very well too. The leisure industry itself could be struggling as people give up going out for meals, going to the cinema, going to pubs etc and the 'money' saved there, could spent on in-home entertainment instead...
We will have to see - but China seems to be trying to get back to normality (and I don't want to discuss politics, conspiracy theories or potential 'lies' and propaganda about the situation and China) so 'maybe' the console can launch in time and with enough stock to meet demand (however high/low it is when it launches)...
Microsoft will probably announce the price sometime after the PS5 price is revealed. They say they want to be competitive with pricing, well the only way to do that is to reveal after the competition.
Still think it's unlikely we see the Series this year, and if we do, supplies will be limited. I definitely plan to purchase one though, I have a lot of discs from all generations of Xbox so far (and a decent number of digital games) that I'm expecting will all carry over the Series X and I'm looking forward to having a better designed Xbox, all the way around, than the Xbox One.
@GhostXSlime
You'd like that, wouldn't you? 😁
It's going to be $500, and because there are people not willing to part with that kind of cash and wait for a price drop instead, there will be no shortages at launch.
