If you're like us, you've probably been carefully planning where your Xbox Series X is going to sit next to your TV for months, moving everything around in preparation for Microsoft's upcoming console. Until now, however, we didn't know how big it really was. Now we do.
According to Eurogamer and Digital Foundry, the size of the Xbox Series X is very similar to two GameCube consoles stuck together. Additionally, the Xbox Series X is just a tiny bit taller than an Xbox One X stuck on its side, although it's obviously quite a bit chunkier in design.
Here are the confirmed size-related specs and some screengrabs from the Digital Foundry video:
- Dimensions: 15.1cm x 15.1cm x 30.1cm
- Total Volume: 6.86 litres
- Weight: 4.45kg/9.8lbs
It's certainly not too big, then, so you should be able to find a place for it around your TV later this year. And it's definitely not the size of a fridge. But we still think that's a pretty cool comparison.
Are you happy with the size of the Xbox Series X? Sound off in the comments below.

This thing's going to have to go sideways to fit under my TV. Fortunately it's small enough and adaptable enough.
It will fit perfectly well sideways where my Project Scorpio XB1X sits....
I'll be getting a new fancy TV at the same time so won't need a soundbar anymore. The XSX will stand next to the TV where the subwoofer currently stands.
It looks fine. My body is ready for the Series X. I really want to see some of my old 360 and og Xbox games in action on this thing, though.
It's still too thick imo but I'll turn it sideways somewhere in my setup.
I have my current Xbox One (S) standing upright, so this will just replace that. On a side note, I don’t think it will be out this year because of the virus.
