It's being reported by some purchasers of the white Sunset Overdrive special edition bundle, that they're getting a surprise message direct from Microsoft.
The company appears to be doling out a free extra game code to select owners of the new system. In the reports that we've seen, the game is a digital copy of Ryse: Son of Rome and we've not seen any reports from outside of the United States as yet.
We just thought we'd post it to remind you to check your messages often - you never know what could be inside!
Have you been given this awesome freebie? Let us know in the comments.

Nice,i picked up the bundle, will keep an eye on my messages
Ryse will be next months Games with Gold. I said it here 1st folks
Normally I don't get mad about bonus items for new Xbox One purchases, but this really bothers me as an owner of a Day One edition. Not only did Early adopters show our support from the beginning and payed $150 more than everyone today.... Why haven't we seen a free "just because" game at this point?
@Fallout09-mk To be honest, as a bleeding edge adopter, it's sort of something to be expected. You buy something on day one, and generally you expect price drops and bundles to beat the launch day price within a year. Same thing happened with the PS2, Wii, Wii U, X360, and even the PS3. It's the cost of doing business.
Sometimes it's hard to take, but I really don't see it as being slapped in the face by Microsoft.
@SuperKMx This I completely understand the price I pay as an early adopter... However what makes the SSO purchasers so special to get an impromptu additional game?
@EternalDragonX I was thinking that, too, but I remembered that they literally just re-released it in a "Legendary Edition" at retail no more than a month ago. I'm not sure if that will factor in to their decision at all.
Then again, I've no idea how that legendary edition is even selling, so it might not matter at all.
@Fallout09-mk Nothing. But it's a very, VERY cheap way for Microsoft to further convince people that they've made the right choice. People who have waited until now to buy an Xbox One were probably on the fence about buying one. They've made the decision to get one now based on either the white console, or the game, and even then they were still probably a little on the fence.
A free game just makes them feel better about their purchase.
Plus, they've missed out on every Xbox One-specific Games With Gold title up until now. Crimson Dragon, Chariot, Max: Curse of Brotherhood, Guacamelee!, Strike Suit Zero, Super Time Force, and Halo: Spartan Assault. Whether you like those games or not, that's at least £80 worth of bonus stuff that they can't get - which is twice the price of a new release game, and about four times the price of Ryse, depending on where you look.
Great, now this bundle I am interested in will be even harder to find.
The good part is that it includes Ryse, of all games it could have. Kinda like PS4 giving away copies of Knack.
Good news for new owners, ryse is actually a amazing game ... I wished the game was longer, even though it's short I enjoyed my time with it. The game was way better then I thought it would be.
Still nothing about an extra game for me. Its probably a US exclusive as its suggested in original post. Not fussed as i own Ryse anyway, but would have been nice to include it in my Day One console that I'm selling.
I think the "ambassador program" that Nintendo brought out with the 3DS was a great way to justify price cuts ect. All new systems should launch with something similar.
