Local multiplayer has been a staple of the Forza Motorsport series for years now, but does the new game support it? And what are Turn 10's plans for post-launch updates? Here's what you need to know.
Forza Motorsport Split Screen Support
Unfortunately, Forza Motorsport for Xbox Series X|S does not support split screen play - at least not at launch. The dev team says that the game's new next-gen technology meant that local multiplayer had to be cut. Here's the reasoning behind their decision:
"Our heavy investment in pushing our new graphical features and our complete overhaul of the rendering engine unfortunately made split-screen really difficult to implement, and it's not going to be in for launch."
It's worth noting that it does say "for launch" in that quote, so there's a chance it could be worked on sometime after release. But for now, you cannot play local split screen co-op in the new Forza Motorsport.
Multiplayer is purely online-only in Forza Motorsport for Xbox Series X|S.
