So, you've taken the plunge and purchased an Xbox One console. Maybe you've even splashed out and acquired yourself an Xbox One X to take advantage of the latest in 4K gaming. After your bank balance has recovered and you've bought a few games, you'll no doubt want to pick up some accessories to enhance your experience.
So what's worth spending your hard-earned cash on? Of course, an additional Xbox One controller is a good place to start. A Play and Charge kit will save you money on AA batteries also. How about a headset? The possibilities are endless.
Without further ado, let's look at some of our favourite Xbox One accessories you can pick up...

Xbox One Subscriptions
Something that most Xbox One owners will want to get sorted immediately is a subscription to Xbox Live Gold, and if you fancy feasting on the tasty smorgasbord of games on offer with Xbox Game Pass then you might want to pick up a sub for that too. These can be purchased in a variety of monthly denominations and make for a great gift, and can at least allow you to avoid entering your credit card details into your Microsoft account... which could get dangerous when there is a flash sale!
Subscriptions can also be picked up for EA Access and Just Dance Unlimited - what a world we live in now!
Xbox One Wireless Controllers
The Xbox One Wireless Controller sure is a step up from the previous generations. If you want to play co-op with a friend then picking up a spare Xbox One controller is a must. Of course, you could grab a bog-standard Xbox One controller in a different colour scheme, or if you are feeling particularly flash, you could even shell out for an Xbox Elite Wireless Controller offering even more bells and whistles. The choice is yours.
If you're a fan of fighting games, we also quite like the HORI Fighting Commander controller too.
Xbox One Play and Charge Kit
While the Xbox One controller has amazing stamina for wireless gaming due to being powered by AA batteries, it's a bit annoying having to keep a stash of them handy and popping off that battery cover to change them over, isn't it? #firstworldproblems
Worry not, however, as there are a plethora of Xbox One Play and Charge kit solutions on the market giving you a battery pack to plonk in the slots where your AA batteries normally go. Then you can charge this up via micro-USB or by using the provided controller dock.
Here are some of our preferred play and charge options from Microsoft and third parties.
Xbox One Headsets
If you want the most immersive experience while playing on your Xbox One, then a headset is the way to go. You can get wireless Xbox One headsets and also wired ones too. These range massively in price due to audio quality and features.
If you love playing Xbox One games online then a headset will let you communicate with others easily, so spending a bit more on a headset will allow you to refrain from annoying other gamers with muffled audio. Here are some of our faves...
Xbox One External Hard Drives
If the latest patch for Call of Duty has eaten up all the remaining storage space on your Xbox One's internal hard drive, then it might be time to invest in an Xbox One external hard drive to beef up your digital storage potential.
These will range in price depending on the capacity, of course, and SSDs will cost even more as their read speeds are much quicker than traditional external hard drives with moving parts. Here are our favourite picks...
Xbox One Steering Wheels
The Xbox One plays host to some truly amazing racing games including Forza Horizon 4, along with some impressive sims such as F1 2019.
If you want the most impressive experience when playing racing games, then an Xbox One steering wheel is a must. As ever, these range in price depending on the quality and the feature set. Here are the wheels we recommend you check out first...
