
Alright, so the other day I was talking about how World of Warcraft plays surprisingly well on Xbox thanks to NVIDIA GeForce Now, and although I do enjoy that way of playing, it would obviously be more beneficial to get a native version.
I'm talking a proper app, installed on my Xbox, that can bring me to World of Warcraft without having to jump through any other hoops. They don't even have to go all-in with the controller support if they don't want to (although I know it does have some form of it already) - just let me plug and play with a mouse and keyboard on Xbox!
I think World of Warcraft will get the console treatment eventually (they do want more money, right?), but I'm not so sure about the likes of RuneScape and one of my favourite MMORPGs of all time, Star Wars: The Old Republic. There's obviously more work involved in providing native apps for those, and even though I'd be perfectly content to play them with a mouse and keyboard as well, I bet there are clauses that say you can't avoid controller support on Xbox.
Maybe all of this talk about the next Xbox console being more Windows-based gives us some hope though. I'm sure Phil Spencer doesn't want Xbox fans to be forced into playing these games in the Microsoft Edge browser through a streaming service that isn't owned by Microsoft! And of course, the allure of enjoying these games natively on a new Xbox console would surely help to shift some units in the next generation.
Who knows what the future holds, but for now, I'm just keen to hear which MMORPGs you'd love to play natively on your Xbox console. Feel free to share your predictions about whether they'll actually come to fruition in Xbox's future as well!

@Aidax89 I really enjoy Guild Wars 2, but hot damn-the first Guild Wars is my jam. I love the fact when you leave the city it felt like PSO. The whole world to yourself and your group. If/when they shut it down I'm going to be gutted. Hopefully they'll allow players to host a server themselves.
Edit, with that said add PSOv2. This should have been backwards compatible.

I think WoW makes it to xbox but honestly I'm not trying to play any of them. MMO isn't really a genre I enjoy.
With all the negativity around FF14. I’d love to go back to the simpler times and relive the days of FF11.

That said I think I am done with mmos these days. I wouldn't be able to keep up the gaming variety I enjoy now and also play an mmo. There just aren't enough hours in a day for me to do that and my days of playing till 4am are long behind me.
@VoidPunk that would be a nostalgia trip for me too. FF11 was first mmo addiction and the source of my 4am bed times i just mentioned 🙂
World of Warcraft easily. Other picks would be Lord of the Rings Online and Star Wars The Old Republic.
Definitely WoW and Knights of the Old Republic. The other 2 I like are already on Xbox. FF14 and ESO.

WoW, but only with controller support. My consoles will always be keyboard free.
I tried ffxiv already but it was boring to me. I need games more straightforward.
None of them interest me. Gave WoW a shot once, which bored me to tears. The only other game that has had the same effect was Fortnite. Must not be my kind of thing considering they are both such huge franchises.
Well I'm currently hooked on one of my old loves, Everquest, so this is a pretty easy one to answer.
It has to be WoW for me, so many memories of playing it when it came out. I'd love to go back and play it, especially if it was WoW Classic.
I've actually been getting the itch to jump back into WoW with Classic, but unfortunately I used up my one good mousing wrist playing WoW religiously the first time around. Nowadays I can't play anything too intense with a mouse, so I'd love to see a native console port with proper controller support, and a sub included with GPU of course lol
NONE! I don't trust myself with MMORPGs, I don't think i'd get anything done. Had I known Genshin Impact was going to be a similar 1000 hour time sink I never would have started it.
At least when I finish something like BOTW after 100-200 hours there is a clean break, with live services that never end, dangerous.
Runescape. The game that if you forgot your login details for back in the day, you had one hell of a night getting through that ridiculously long tutorial again.
If they did a remaster of Phantasy Star Online 1 or Phantasy Star Universe, I'd put the money down.
Other than that, Final Fantasy 11 would be nice, and not just since there's a hole in my game list... It goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14...
Wow, of them all, has the dev team that could probably do it. However, while I would like Star Wars The Old Republic, they just pushed off development from EA/Bioware to Broadsword a year and half ago, and since that transfer really very little has come out content-wise. They have done 'graphics updates', and added Dynamic Encounters which is just kill/fetch missions, but really there is nothing. So, for them to somehow take a massive undertaking to redo the game engine just to get it to work on an XBOX, would take even more time away from content possibly.
However, Star Wars Galaxies would be interesting, but then again an IP issue. I doubt it highly, unless it was a new game from the ground up.
