None of the sales seem to stand out. Generally the same games at the same prices. I saw a few newer games at deeper discounts than previous, but my assumption is that will just be the new normal discount in upcoming sales. No inventive to buy now. Gamepass keeps me from adding to the purchased backlog to an extent
The only games I bought was the racoon City collection resident evil 2 and 3 remake for 12 pound well worth it In my eyes I'll probably get 2 point campus next it's on offer and leaving gamepass
Nothing, as I already own most of the games (of interest) that were on sale.
Plus, I have had zero time for gaming lately and my backlog has been put on hold until I can start gaming again.
Mankind divided for just shy of £4....just running through human revolution atm so shouldnt be long....also picked up gotham knights and cyberpunk....what a waste of £45 that was 🙄
Bulletstorm @£2.99 seemed a bit of a steal, especially with reward points.
I'm still buying a ton of 360 games most got for free with GWG over the years... but with how often the sales repeat, I'm starting to hit the ceiling of ones that actually have sales.
I bought, FFX/FFX-2, FF8, World of Final Fantasy.
I used $50 worth of credit I received through the Samsung Galaxy/ Xbox promotion they had going a few weeks ago and purchased...
Fallout 4 Game of the year edition
Deus Ex Mankind Divided
Mad Max
Prey Deluxe edition
Overcooked 2 gourmet edition
ReCore
Gotta have all of those FPS Boosted games for my Series X.
Only bought elden ring. Blew my load on 1 game
Iron Harvest Complete Edition (very good RTS that plays alot like Company of Heroes.) , Bulleststorm Full Clip edition , Resident Evil 3 Remake , Tiny Tina's Wonderlands , Risk of Rain 1+2 bundle
Nothing. A lot of the prices are goofy.
$15 for Black Ops, a decade old game? Even Gamestop, one of the greediest out there was it for only $5.
Digital releases were supposed to reduce game prices. Distribution, having to print sleeves and and cases, and packing it all up, removed.
But instead the opposite happened. Despite the money saved there, and every game wanting to shove microtransactions down your throat, their bottom lines were increased multiple avenues. Game prices still go up and still you somehow get "sales" like this.
At least Valve still has a lock down on how sales should be.
I finally bought the Spyro Trilogy and Injustice 2. Both with rewards points.
Compared to Nintendo's, Xbox sales are fantastic. Retail sales are for getting rid of stock so of course you're not going to find AAA games for $5 here. Nintendo used to have 50% off at retail, Player's Choice and Nintendo Selects, most of them were awesome games. Now you get 33% off on Switch, if you're lucky and not for DLC.
I bought a few to add to my backlog … Midnight Sun, both Neir games and a few others that you all recommended…
I got Control Ultimate Edition and that's it!
@Kaloudz A great game, I played the original version when it came out on 360 and I enjoyed it.
I was deciding which to play, Two point campus or the ascent, before they left game pass. Two point went on sale so I bought that and play the ascent.
Bought Asura's Wrath and Zone of the Enders HD Collection. A lot of people have compared Final Fantasy XVI to Asura's Wrath and so I just had to get it now that it's on sale for only €4. Zone of the Enders has been on my wishlist for years, so I decided to finally buy it now.
@NintendoByNature that’s the best game to blow your load on
I bought a bunch of the old COD games. Black Ops 2 mp is still poppin when you can find the matches sans hackers.
Also going through the campaigns. I played most of them back on an old ps3 account I have, so it’ll be nice to get the achievements.
Nothing stands out to me as 'worth' spending money on when I have so many other Games that I want to finish, some still to start and not enough 'Game playing' time to get through everything before new games become available I'm very keen to add to my backlog...
I bought Control ultimate edition, Alan Wake Remaster, and Diablo 2 prime evil edition which came with 2 and 3.
I bought Brawlhalla All Legends Pass a copy for me and a gift for my brother too. Unfortunately he’s in the UK so the gift couldn’t be redeemed.
I used the sale to find a cheaper physical copy of Elden Ring. I'll always get physical over digital if I can find the deals. Not much else though - this sale was really boring and commonplace. Nothing impressive except Hogwart's because it hadn't been on sale before. I'll pick it up when it get's cheaper near Christmas.
@Dusk_Actual hope so. I'm not a souls guy personally, but I've heard it's more accessible. About 3-4 hrs in and I'm still waiting for it to grab me
I got Alan Wake's American Nightmare. Not a big spender this time!
@oopsiezz bought the risk of rain bundle too, both are awesome games, first one giving me vampire survivors vibes and second one giving me remnant vibes, can't wait for remnant 2 to go on sale now
Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition, Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, Ducktales Remastered, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (and the Season Pass), WWE 2K Battlegrounds, Super Street Fighter 4 AE, Ultra SF 4, SF 4, and a few more that weren't part of the sale.
Will probably buy Midnight Suns too, before it ends. It was a really good sale.
I don’t buy games for my Series X, only for my PS5. My Xbox is solely for Game Pass. If a game releases on both I buy it for PS5 because of the dual sense and when it’s an Xbox exclusive it’s on GP anyway.
Nothing! I have a backlog you could wrap round the World twice over and Game Pass keeps providing.
Bought one of the old COD games and Split Second. Great sale but i already owned most of what it offered.
Far Cry 3 and 4
Fear 2
Call of Duty WWII
@splinterme all good choices! WW2 is a pretty underrated Cod imo.
I bought gotham knights and almost immediately asked for a refund.
Nothing against the game but I already spent 50$ can on the telltale expanse and felt kinda guilty on spending so much money on gaming.
Might buy it again down the line
At least the poll backs up the old saying that Xbox gamers don’t buy games!
Joking aside both Xbox and PS have largely terrible digital sales, usually far cheaper physical (both new and sales) apart from a handful.
@DTfeartheBEARD all those games are super solid! Solid purchases
@docjcj Yeah! I have physical copies of all of them except ReCore, but I played it on Game Pass and really enjoyed it. I prefer physical over digital, but lately, I've been buying digital versions of games I already own if the price is low enough.
@Utena-mobile yes... it's quite easy to refund a game before 2 weeks and also not having played the game for too long
Google: refund xbox games and ull get there
Have not sat down on any of my consoles recently, been playing FFXIV on PC. I rarely buy any digital games if I’m not sitting in the Xbox already preparing to play some game.
This is, I guess, why engagement is so important a metric for MS (or anyone) as it increases spending opportunities on the platform.
I already voted 0 but might jump tomorrow and see if there is anything on my wish list on sale.
People buy Xbox games? I thought there was no need with Gamepass. In my case my Series S really is just a Gamepass machine. If I'm buying a game its on PS5 or the Switch
Any game I buy I'm not going to get round to playing for months so it's just pointless. Too many games in the backlog to tick off.
I picked up Gotham Knights with rewards points. I was thinking about getting Alan Wake remastered as well, but I'll pick that up another time (it was on for £10 this time but with the second game on the way I expect it to be in and out of the sales on a regular basis now)
Nothing so far.
But I'm thinking about 1 or 2 Lego games. I almost have my next 5€ rewards ready.
@PartyMarty @Feffster @Kaloudz Is Bulletstorm a bit like Gears of War? Another one for my backlog, then?
I bought Control: Ultimate ln because it was so cheap and had Twin Peaks vibes. I was on my phone app last night and was looking up Metal Gear: Vevengence- hit the download to console button on a whim and it downloaded without a purchase. Anyone know why? It's supposed to be $20.
I bought it on Steam ages ago but why should that matter?
@DTfeartheBEARD cool man yea I collect both digital and physical usually picking up the physical down the road if I buy digitally especially if I really enjoyed the game. 😎 digital libraries are underrated. I just checked my Xbox library going back to the 360. Can play em all on my series X pretty cool. Allot of em with fps and hdr boosts as well
Hi there fellow gamers, beem a while.
Bought a few more games on sale from the store:
Wich means, more games for the backlog, wich are quite a few.
Oh, and I also bought the Forza Horizon 5 season Pass as well. Game is now almost 160 GB in storage space. Kinda insane.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming
@Cashews It was part of Games With Gold back in 2019. Could you have claimed it then? Great game btw, enjoy.
Kingdom Hearts Remix 1.5+2.5 , the title was confusing but I remember really enjoying it when I had a PS4 but never beat any games to completion, maybe now is the time
@Serpentes420
Likewise. Gamepass is enough for me. No need to buy xbox games ever. COD is coming to gamepass soon anyway
@Jey887 I didn't have gold back then. I played a few MS games like Sea of Thieves but nothing over gold. Confusing. I checked my balance it did not debit out any money. I am not complaining!
Gotham Knights. Easily the best £20 I've spent in a while.
@Banjo- I’m not a big Gears fan but there is definitely a Gears feel with the characters & voice acting. But it’s an arcadey first person shooter at heart that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Good fun, pretty good graphics and runs very smooth (I’m on Series X). Definitely worth three quid if you’re into that kind of thing.
Jade empire. I was going to get an original Xbox copy but it was so cheap here I had to buy it.
@oopsiezz
Thx for the Iron Harvest Complete Edition tip! Picked it up just in time. (you had me at company of heroes)
@Kaloudz @Feffster It sounds like fun!
I think I've bought one game on Xbox since I joined Gamepass over 2 years ago.
I just bought some OG Xbox backwards compatible games:
Fuzion Frenzy, Crimson Skies, Psychonauts and Red Faction II
EDIT: Both Fuzion Frenzy and Crimson Skies are in gamepass (I completed Crimson Skies a few years ago) but I liked them so much that I decided to buy them both since they are so cheap right now!
What I really want is for Xbox and Namco to get their act together so we can get Antstream Arcade/Namco support!
I think Elden Ring is all I bought this time. I am over buying back catalog games, mostly because I bought so many of them in past sale events and have a ton of them on an old One X I took offline.
Nothing, as my game backlog is big enough already. That and I'm going away at the end of the month so I'd rather spend my disposable income on souvenirs than games until I get back.
