Time flies! It's been one year since Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League arrived on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (along with other platforms), and the game has certainly gone through quite a journey over the past 12 months.
There's no getting away from the fact that KTJL was a disappointment in terms of its financial performance, with Warner Bros. admitting as such following its release, and the Metacritic average came in at a disappointing 61 for Xbox.
However, we actually liked it at the time! Here's a snippet from our review of the game:
"Yes, the story is artificially dragged out, mission types are repetitive and the store is a right royal rip-off, but the writing, the performances, core mechanics and incredible attention to detail here ensure that this is one squad of misfits who've managed to take the heat and survive intact."
Regardless of our positivty here at Pure Xbox, Kill The Justice League certainly appeared doomed even before it came out, and Rocksteady eventually announced in December 2024 that the new 'Season' updates would end. We still got four of them in all though, and the addition of an offline mode proved very welcome last December too.
Now's actually an amazing time to get involved because of the game's massive discount in the Xbox Lunar New Year Sale 2025, bringing it down to just £6.99 / $6.99. It's not the first time it's dropped to a ridiculously low price either!
But is it worth playing, even for that low price? You've seen what we had to say, but we're keen to hear your thoughts on Kill The Justice League down in the poll and comments below. Give us your verdict a year later!

I got the game for 1quid just before Christmas so I got my money's worth out of it ha!
But the story and characters are very good in it I have to say up till you kill the first brainic then the game dies and the gameplay can be quite repetitive but I enjoyed it aswell ha!
It could of been a great non live service game if they concentrated more on story and gameplay!
@fraserG more importantly than this piece of crap… forza on ps this spring…
I think I'm still never going to play it, nothing about it is remotely interesting to me. Thankfully on Quest there was a great Batman game last year in Arkham Shadows
The game is an example of everything currently wrong with the gaming industry.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
Just read it on PUSH.
FH5 one of my favourite Xbox exclusive franchises on PS5.
It’s definitely begun.
Forza Horizon 5 coming to PS5.
So, it has finally begun...
@anoyonmus
Thats done it now.
Absolutely nothing is redlined for sure.
It started GamerGate 2, without we’d still be on the path to having infinitely awful games. So for that I’m grateful.
A year later and I still haven’t tried it. I got it on PS+ so I do plan on eventually giving it a try though.
@Odium I didn’t even claim it on ps+
I bought the game for 7$. Still haven't played it, but for what it cost me I don't care if it's not that good.
I got it free on Epic. After playing it through to the finish I would consider anything under $20 worth the purchase. It will probably be in that $5-$10 range pretty regularly. Like arkham Knights and saints row, it is a great value and an easy recommendation at that price.
For me, this game is the classic 7 out of 10 game. Lots of content, and mildly entertaining but not doing anything you haven't done a lot of in other games. I don't have anything against these types of games as long as they are priced right.
Not a bad game. It looks great, it feels great just runs out of steam towards the end.
It's fine. Finished it and all the battle passes for just £4.99 paid. Easily worth that for me. That's me done at over 50 hours on it though.
I think the problem I had with Suicide Squad is that its controls are counter-intuitive in my opinion.
I bought it on 2 platforms: Xbox and Steam, however I wasn't able to enjoy it.
I didn't play it because it looked like a shambles from the moment they first showed gameplay. I don't feel like I've missed out.
Edit: I actually completely forgot that I played one of the closed tests they did for the game prior to release 🤣
The number of comments says it all (and some are even off topic). I had the beta early on and was really put off by the setting/city let alone the overall style. But then I'm not a Marvel or DC fan in general. I like Batman, Spider-Man and Watchmen. That's it. Glad some enjoyed it but this was a colossal waste of time for Rocksteady. More Batman please!
I didn't play it and I don't have plans to change that.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I can’t say I blame you. Morbid curiosity got a hold of me.

Brought this in sale cheap. Looking forward to giving it a go
