Lies Of P for me
Sea of Stars #1
SW3, Lies of P, Atomic Heart, Ishin and
Remnant 2 for me.
Edit: I forgot about Jusant.
I.. I.... I just don't know.... I have played so many great games because of GamePass this year that I might have forget one when I mention my favorites.
MHRise (even though I had to switch to PS because you could rarely get into groups).
Mount and blade 2 , sea of stars, lies of P, hi if. FM.
Recently steamworld build, although in honesty it’s a little bit shallow.
Starfield
Railway empire 2
Quake 2
Remnant 2
Mlb the show 23
Has to be starfield for me out of the ones I played
I guess Hi-Fi Rush, LADGTMWEHN, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Tactica.
Honorable mention to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Enjoyed it a lot more than Lies of P.
Hi-Fi Rush not only for the game itself, but for being shadow-dropped which added to the whole experience.
1. Cocoon
Certainly my favorite game I’ve played on Xbox this year, plain and simple.
2. Hi-Fi Rush
The best Xbox Game Studios title since Ori and the Will of the Wisps for me (which, to date, may in fact by my favorite Xbox Game Studios title)
3. Goldeneye 007
How crazy is it that it FINALLY happened?
4. A Short Hike
One of my favorite games of all time and I’m so glad more people will enjoy it
5. Jusant
A really unique title that goes new places in gaming. I really enjoyed it
So many good games, hard to pick just 5 but probably
1. Mineko's Night Market
2. Starfield
3. Dordogne
4. A Short Hike
5. Bramble: The Mountain King
It was difficult to vote because it has been a wonderful year for Game Pass: Hi-Fi Rush, Starfield, Forza Motorsport and awesome third-party titles. I needed to select Rise of the Tomb Raider for five points because it's one of the best games of the last generation and it has been enhanced. I would have voted for Goldeneye 007 if it was the Xbox 360 version, that I played in developer mode this year.
Starfield and Forza on Gamepass saved me money from buying those disappointments.
So many great games but Starfield, Hi-Rush and Sea of Stars would be my favorites!
My top game HAS to be Goldeneye — a game we never thought we’d see return. I still can’t believe it happened, even if it’s not the much-better 360 version that was canned.
But not to sound like a debbie downer: this was the year I realized Gamepass isn’t for me, and that’s okay! I actually had more fun with my Xbox this year than the last few, and almost all of it was on games I owned. If it wasn’t for cloud streaming to my phone in bed, I actually used Gamepass very little overall.
Again — not to be downing Gamepass, as I know for some people it has more value. I can see it being very valuable if you have more time for games and don’t own other consoles.
But for me it was kind of liberating: you always hear people say “oh you NEED Gamepass if you have an Xbox.” If actually took away my enjoyment of the console a little because I wasn’t playing what I wanted — I was trying to force reasons to use GP. But there are a lot of fantastic reasons to still own an Xbox on its own, no expensive monthly subscription required.
Monster hunter rise is the best one for me, but sadly it didn't have cross save/play so I didn't play it on xbox. I have the steam version and didn't want to start over.
Bramble is phenomenal
Followed by Starfield, Atomic Heart and Darkride
The nostalgia kick was real for me.
Other games that were great additions:
Persona 5 Tactica for me, my personal Goty.
I think Guilty Gear would have been a good pick as well but I didn't actually play it, just watched someone else play it instead.
I was specially happy for:
Persona 5 Tactica.
Monster Hunter Rise.
Remnant 2.
Ni No Kuni II.
Chicory.
But, what a year it has been for Game Pass. So many great options.
1. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Main Who Erased His Name
2. Starfield
3. Hi-Fi Rush
4. Forza Motorsport
5. GoldenEye 007
Wo long, Quake 2, Starfield, Lies of P, Goldeneye
Starfield
A Short hike
Everspace 2
Dicey Dungeons
Cocoon
I played quite a few GP games so great value but those are the ones I played the most of…
Honorable mention to my list is Gotham Knights. I hadn't played enough at the time of my voting to consider it (I dont think it makes the top 5). The reviews and discourse were a little too tough on it. It is a solid game even if it doesn't hit the asylum/city highs.
Can I vote for Hi-Fi Rush on all of them?
