A few days ago, we asked for your favourite Xbox Game Pass addition in March 2024, and even though it was up against some strong competition such as Evil West and Control Ultimate Edition, Diablo 4 still came out on top.
Of course, this was the big Activision Blizzard addition we'd been waiting for, and it marks the first of (hopefully) many ActiBlizz titles to hit Xbox Game Pass in the months and years to come. It certainly sounds like it's lived up to the hype based on our poll results, although admittedly it's still suffered a bit of negative feedback at times as well.
Look over at Steam, for example, and you'll find a "Mixed" average rating based on over 14,000 reviews, with many of the complaints being centred around the game's controversial monetisation model. That said, its Metacritic rating sits at an extremely impressive 91 for Xbox Series X, so clearly the critics were huge fans of it back at launch.
Anyway, how about you? What do you think of Diablo 4 so far on Xbox Game Pass, and is this your first time playing a Diablo game? We'd love to hear your thoughts down in the comments below, and don't forget to vote in the poll as well!

Bought it at launch last year and completed the storyline. Haven’t really been back to it as my buddies lost interest as well. I did have fun with it though.
My only issue is the singing in at the beginning and not having quick resume work. Getting logged in at first was a tad annoying but wasn't overly cumbersome. Other than that, it's great.
It’s loading up as I type this. Huge Diablo fan and have patiently waited for it to drop on Game Pass. Will dive in later tonight.
Diablo 1 & 2 used to be my favorite games, but then 3 came along and turned it into something.. different. Haven't really cared as much for it since.
I hoped 4 would pull me in, but yeah, gave it a few hours and choose to play Sea of Stars over it :/
If you just started playing. Beat the regular campaign and get your mount. Then come back May 14th for season 4. We are getting a ton of QoL improvements
I've tried it a bit, but honestly, I can't stop playing Balatro. You guys should check it out, it's easily the Game of the Year so far.
I played just a bit. However I was surprised when I entered the shop. Does every game needs to be a goddamn casino nowadays? This is exactly the crap that got me off from NBA 2kwhatever.
I'll continue playing the story in single player, but that's it.
I'm enjoying. Played the beta so knew what was getting myself into.
Anyone else having issues not being able to have your character title stay?
Trying to have the Early title save. Actually none of the titles save for me.
@fabio1 Absolutely agree with you. All shops are annoying.
But sad thing is people (probably 9 year olds with their parents credit card on file) must be buying stuff.
I never buy anything. Will say it is getting to point where I'm going to boycott games that do have shops. Have tons in backlog to play. I'll be fine.
@Cikajovazmaj Same for me. I LOVE Diablo 1 & 2, but 3 was a disappointment for me. I thought 4 would be more like the first two games, but yeah, it’s definitely more like 3.
Diablo isnt my type of game but I tried it. The opening cinematics are really cool but the gameplay just isnt for me. Its a great addition to GamePass though.
Payed for it on release, first Diablo I've played on console. Sunk hundreds of hours unto 3 on PC trying out different classes and builds. 4 didn't click with me on release but now I'm enjoying it more. The construct season content is what's making the difference I think.
It is very disappointing. But it is not fault of xbox...
I played through a good portion of it but I lost interest and fell off. Not a bad game by any means! Just not my genre it turns out.
