Not great tbh, the only good thing was TNMT coming to Game Pass apart from that the Callisto Protocol game looks absolutely breathtaking.
Apart from that it was a very forgettable show.
Poor, especially for ps fans. Hopefully xbox & bethesda can offer something
D and that's generous. Not a fan of space horror of anime art style so most shown onstantly wasn't for me. TMNT was the best thing shown and that was already a known commodity. Hopefully the MS show is exciting cause that was pretty awful.
Not that great an ok watch, being honest I don’t think we are going to get much massive from the game industry this year from anybody.
Let’s hope Sunday as few surprises else it gonna a drab 2022 for new big AAA releases.
Most of everything they showed was not deserving for a games conference reveal. Snooze fest is more like it. 😴
This could really mean that the kojima game is a xbox exclusive. The horror game called overdose
Erm I was bit .... bored. Pacing could have been a little better. I'm keeping my expectation in check for the season if this show is any indication.
S - Overhyped sh*te yet again.
It wasn't that great at all. I wasn't wowed a single time. Since I don't get the a to f system, it would be a 5ish out of 10.
@Chaudy someone else said that. Can you explain why that might be?
Honestly Poor
Underwhelming
@Kingleo31 well it hasn't been shown at the state of play, it hasn't been shown at summer game fest. The only thing left is Xbox showcase and Kojima tweeted saying he was going away to attend an event. Plus there were rumours a while back suggesting that Kojima was working with Xbox. So this may or may not be it.
@Chaudy ah ok. I appreciate it. I just kinda assumed the rumors of him working with Microsoft were false or the deal had broken off entirely since here lately it’s been Death Stranding 2 getting the rounds on the internet and on the Xbox side of things, it’s been real quiet.
@Kingleo31 yeah I mean they could still be false. It might even turn out to be a playstation exclusive that just got leaked too early or multi plat. Who knows
It wasn’t bad for me. Over 30 games covered, I was interested in over a third of them and around half of them coming in 2022 apparently. Not bad as an overview.
However the trailers didn’t hit that hard and it was missing a few bangers or wow moments, especially at the end it needed a big ‘one last thing’. TLOU pt 1 isn’t a finisher and made even worse that it leaked. Whimpered out.
But it wasn’t bad. Enjoyed it, but could have been a lot better too.
Calisto Protocol the standout but I also liked Routine, Flashback 2, Aliens Dark Descent, Fort Solis, Highwater, American Arcadia, Cuphead DLC, Midnight Fight Express, Honkai Starrail, ZZZ, TMNT, The Quarry, Saints Row, W40K Darktide, Gotham Knights and TLoU pt1. A few others are of possible interest.
@Dezzy70 Agreed, I think this is the tail end of the Covid effect on game development. God of War rumors of getting delayed till 2023 shows it not just Microsoft having issues….
Jeff.... keep organizing this but hire someone to stand on stage. You have the charisma of a bar of soap.
Lack of gameplay was a big issue, cg after cg trailer.
Calysto looked great and wasnt afraid to show gameplay, dec 2 cant come soon enough.
There was another shooter i liked the look of, witchfire looked like a romp and the dark tide game also grabbed my attention.
Bit meh though. All that in 40 minutes would have felt better....
Dead Space 4 looked awesome. Other than that nothing hyped me, DarkTide looked ok I guess, MW2 gameplay looked exactly how I imagined it to look. Another TLOU remake, is it too soon to make Skyrim memes?
I knew Midnight Suns was featuring but was hoping for some gameplay. Another cinematic trailer isn't what I wanted from a game originally penned for a Q1 release.
Let's hope Sunday is at least 50 times better than this.
I’m ashamed to admit that I actually enjoyed the Goat Simulator 3 reveal and actually let out a chuckle when it said 3 instead of 2.
I guess I’m just a sad old man.
Grade E? Is that for effort?
Ok show... I loved the callisto (give me dead space vibes) and tmnt was nice along routine... Also anime games was cool but not sure if single player or what
It was horrible, Calisto protocol gameplay looked good and TMNT Shredder's Revenge coming to gamepass is the only highlights of a 3 hour show.. Overall i'll grade it a D..
Microsoft may give us a nice treat come Sunday!!!
Sunday not far away it was okay il wait to judge when I've played some.
Yea, this year was really underwhelming. Plenty there for people to be interested in but just nothing for me.
@BamBam830
Think they are all having issues.
Nintendo for sure unless they shock us with something AAA and new also BOTW2 is now 2023.
Sony maybe GOW2, but I’m expecting a delay to 2023.
Then that leaves with hopefully a surprise or two this Sunday.
Routine's comeback was a surprise ... so was Witchfire's.
Fort Solis seemed pretty intriguing.
Callisto Protocol's gameplay was brutal and awesome.
And MWII's visual was pretty jaw droppin'
Got to see Nightingale's gameplay as well.
Internet ruined the TLOU Remake surprise.
Overall : Not bad. Pretty good.
Don't know what colossal expectations people were having tbh
Way too long and way too much Geoff Keighley. Does he really need to introduce each trailer? The show is more of a platform for him than the games.
I actually enjoyed it and there was a lot of games that I'm looking forward to playing especially as I love Sci fi/Horror games and JRPG's.
Also the last of us part 1 looks amazing so looking forward to playing that again with way better visuals and as a refresher before the tv series
I just skipped it. Keighley's events always suck. If E3 doesn't properly return, I'll just watch the showcases the manufacturers put on themselves from now on. At this point, everyone realizes what a smart idea the Nintendo Direct format is anyway.
@Dezzy70 Between third-party partnerships and first-party releases, Nintendo is at the point where they're publishing a noteworthy exclusive every month in 2022 on average. That doesn't sound like they're having issues to me.
@UltimateOtaku91 you like horror don’t you? Not that there is an issue with that it’s just most of “exciting games” were horror based. The anime games were fine but their trailers weee short.
Last of us remake getting leaked deflated a lot of the big end.
Things like Troy talking about a game he’s in and they can’t even say the style of game it is really kills or for me.
@mousieone yeah I like horror games and have played a few on gamepass as well, but il be honest whilst I did like the look of most of them shown today I do believe there's just way too much Sci fi space horror games coming out over the next year or so, and some that weren't shown today like dead space and starfield. It's like every year or two there's a new craze genre and this time it's space Sci fi games
Solid C from me. Was loads better than last years. Far less ads. And games I’m actually interested in. First half was pretty awesome. And though I hate the pricing and won’t be buying day 1 I have to admit MW2 looks amazing.
All the dead space clones and war hammer were fine by me. All looking great. And a few gamepass announcements.
The only thing preventing it from being a B was it’s still just too long for what they have to show. There was a lull in the middle. Some terrible cringy advertisement from black adam and his energy drinks. And naughty dog really didn’t need to be there…never mind close the show with concept art.
Was also surprised Kojima didn’t make any appearance.
Skate Story was flippin amazing. Made the night really, though I've not watched it live
LoL if you absolutely hate Horror and Sci Fi, then this would be an F for you haha
I thought it was a C- at best to be honest. The Last of Us remake part at the end went on waaaaay too long, and was devoted to what is frankly an unnecessary and vain remake. And the Ellie voice actress seemed to struggle constantly to get the words out of her mouth...I mean, a voice actress who can't seem to speak. Some decent game pass fare, however, and the whole show was a nice setup for Xbox to, hopefully, save the day on Sunday
So underwhelming. Really hope the xbox/Bethesda thing is more interesting.
