It's finally arrived! Well, for some of us. Forza Horizon 5 is officially playable right now if you bought the Premium Edition of the game, and that includes the special Premium Add-Ons Bundle for Xbox Game Pass members.
If you're not in the loop, this is a new offer from the Xbox team designed for Game Pass subscribers specifically, featuring all the content included in the expensive Forza Horizon 5 Premium Edition, but dramatically reducing the cost by removing the game itself - which you can obviously play with Game Pass anyway.
- Forza Horizon 5 Premium Add-Ons Bundle (Xbox Store) - £35.99 / $44.99
The Forza Horizon 5 Premium Add-Ons Bundle allows you to play four days early beginning 5 November 2021. It also includes the Welcome Pack, Car Pass, VIP Membership and two game expansions when they become available. This add-on requires Forza Horizon 5 (game sold separately).
It seems this offer has been really well received by Xbox Game Pass subscribers, with a lot of people suggesting prior to launch that they were going to buy it. But how about you? Did you end up pulling the trigger and getting it?
If so, how are you finding the game so far? We've got just a few days left before it arrives for everyone on Xbox Game Pass on Tuesday, so feel free to share your early thoughts with the rest of the Pure Xbox community below.

Whist I ticked 'YES', the answer is technically no! My son bought it, and as I game share with him, I'm still getting in on the early action...
Yep.
I'd buy the DLC anyway based on the quality of the previous games, so the early access and anything else is an added bonus.
I'll probably buy the actual game as well when it's on sales later down the line to complete the full package.
Only played a couple of hours so far of the game, but it's been stunning both graphically and gameplay.
That opening segment dropping the cars in the different biomes is a real jaw dropper with how smoothly it transitions as well.
Yup i brought it. And im enjoying the heck out of the game. If anything the game is a 9.5 since theres no such thing as a perfect game
I did, but my son is on a sea of thieves run so I haven't got to try it yet. Looking forward to trying it later.
I bought the DLC based on the quality of the previous add-ons for the last 2 games. Given Playground's track record I'm sure the DLC will fantastic as the last 2 games.
For £36 you get all the add-ons - including 2 expansions! - AND 4 day early access...it was a complete no-brainer for me. Great game.
Am I the only one waiting for this game to arrive in game pass next week?
@munstahunta I'm waiting for the Game Pass release after the weekend too. It's not like there isn't enough stuff to be getting on with elsewhere on Game Pass and what's a few more days of waiting. Enjoying dabbling in Back 4 Blood until I can get started on this. I'll pick the pass up when it is in a sale 12 months or so down the line when the 2 expansions are out like I did with Horizon 4.
I believe I saw somewhere that they had over 630K player's world wide....so that's a lot of premium bundles/upgrades purchased. How big will the jump in player base be when the regular version and gamepass are live?
I did. That's a very nice option for Game Passsubscribers. Usually I don't purchase ultimate editions or even DLC, but Forza Horizon expansions have been consistently awesome, so I don't mind paying for the Premium Add-ons. Being able to play it earlier is a great bonus as well.
@SplooshDmg very good point! It pays to stagger the release in this way. More games should release this way
@SplooshDmg me too!
@Residentsteven At the bottom of the Audio menu on this one there's the ability to turn off almost all voice overs, and you can set the speech and radio volumes to 0 to be sure
Been really enjoying it! I have always been a big Forza fan, they have been my desert island games in a sense, the kind of games that I can put hundreds of hours into and never get tired of. They pretty much delivered on their usual experience with the expected upgrades here and there, so it's hard for me to complain. There's a few issues I found of course, but considering how this is early access in a sense I guess I shouldn't be surprised and I imagine they will iron out a few of the kinks in the first few updates.
For now I am just trying to expand my car collection and the festival, upgrading a wide variety of cars for various races and so on. The dialogue is kind of obnoxious but it's not nearly as bad as I imagined, probably because I was just playing Riders Republic before this and that had far worse dialogue. After I complete the initial expansions and everything I'll probably just mute it, but for now I just wanted to get a feel for everything.
I love early access especially when it’s bundled with future content. I know I’ll be playing Forza for years so having the vip membership and dlc to come back to is amazing. Plus Playground Games deserve any support they ask for. Truly top notch. They were doing biweekly streams for three months on this game.
I did not as I don't care about dlc, but I think it's a great initiative. Getting money in some other way because it releases day one on gamepass.
Huge Forza fan. Never bought DLCs past Motorsports 2 though. Unfortunately there's never anything interesting in them to me. I don't care about supercars which is why most are.
All I care about is tuning cars, particularly ones I own IRL.
If they ever make. DLC that has convertibles, particularly Audis and VWs, that would probably be enough to get me to buy a DLC.
As is though, seems like the only time we get a good bit of new cars is on a Motorsport release, and we haven't had one of those in ages.
If I had any clue what was in the expansions I would have bought it, as it stands I probably grab the expansion pass when they get annouced.

Nope I’ll just wait until I can play on Tuesday. I’m not really a fan of this sort of thing but it’s fine if other people find value in it.
Nope but I’d probably buy whatever version of this they do for Halo Infinite.
I'm debating it right now lol. Watching some reviews (btw where's the Pure Xbox review) and trailers. I adored FH3 and was very meh on 4. This looks fabulous tho.
@SplooshDmg OMG that's beautiful!!
I jumped into the Add-on bundle for GP members and never looked back. I’ve been playing since the clock hit 12am on the 5th. Great game! And I’m playing on Xbox One X and it looks amazing. It has a some load times but it’s totally livable.
I don't keep a Gamepass subscription all the time, I don't like always having to pay long term to keep access to my favorite games so I usually buy the Ultimate edition of this series and other favorites.
@SplooshDmg coincidentally, "rip and tear" is just the normal commute in this area.
As I knew that this game would be my go-to for a very long time, buying the bundle was a no brainer for me. I couldn't be more impressed minus the annoying voiceovers. I really like what they've done with the collections screen and the fact that you get a reward for acquiring every model from a manufacturer. Porsche collection is already off to a great start!
I hardly ever buy DLC, but it seemed like such good value I got it. Loving it, seems like they've improved the handling as well as the visuals too.
@Krysus definitely play it... I think it blends the best of 3 and 4, plus adds a bit extra into the mix.
Yes because I wanted the DLC packs and car passes and that is the cheapest way to do it. The VIP pass and Early access were kinda just a bonus. (And problematic. See below)
Really enjoying the game so far it’s great. My main criticism is it’s an iterative upgrade - it’s VERY similar to FH4 - and can’t shake the feeling I’ve played it all before. But thankfully it still has that ‘just one more race’ feeling and Mexico is lovely.
EDIT: also just to add I felt conflicted. I didn’t want to support the ‘pay for early access on Game Pass’ model (that sucks) but did want the DLC/car passes at the lowest price. I hope we DON’T see paying to get early access becoming the norm.
So I caved in and bought the add ons 😁 no regrets! The game rocks and blows FH4 out of the water in terms of car handling and graphics. I can see myself only taking brief breaks to try other games while enjoying the hell out of FH5 till spring.
@antstephenson I think 4 was rushed just a tad. The seasons were the coolest thing. Britain in general was just kinda sterile. Australia was way cooler imho. I'm glad they took their time with 5. Decide to wait till Tuesday and upgraded to a Series S in the meantime!
Nope, I can wait a few days for gamepass release and there will be a sale for the dlc down the line.
@Krysus
I think a lot of people agree with you on 3 Vs 4.
TBH I am the other way... love 4, but just can't seem to get into 3.
In any case, I think 5 kind of blends them well and I'm sure you'll have a blast... happy gaming
I’m waiting until tomorrow I very really buy add ins so it a no brainier to wait for the game pass version.
I checked if the full add-on bundle would grant me early access and when I saw it did, I immediately bought it. Like Forza Horizon 4, I just know I will spend a ton of time in the game and I know it will be well worth the money. And yeah, it is a blast!
Did have some severe connection issues on Saturday though, including one where I lost quite a bit of progress. So when I came back, I had to buy a house again, lost a couple of cars and had to unlock a festival site again. Does anyone else experience this?
@munstahunta I'm here as well just waiting to get on Forza asap. it hits game pass on the 9th
By the way, tip for everyone: select Auto Lock-Off in the Difficulty settings for more realistic breaking and much more difference in between the handling of cars. Big boost for me!
Didn't they do this Add-On bundle for FH4 too? Because I bought it last year that had all the DLC and add-ons since it was on sale at the time.
Since the game will have plenty of content if I do get the upgrade bundle it'll be later down the line when I know more about what will actually be included, and I can get it a bit cheaper.
