Definitely Flight Sim but confused why they didn’t make Powerwash Simulator a choice when it even seems the article was spurred by its addition to GamePass.
@awp69 Same. That seems like a glaring omission (but an odd mistake). It would have been my pick too, I’m loving it right now.
@awp69 yeah that can't have been on purpose, since it's mentioned in the article itself. @FraserG get PowerWash Simulator in the voting options so I can cast my vote! 😀
I'm absolutely blown away by high vote count for Flight Simulator. It is by far the most unstable game I've ever played on any console, it crashes to the dashboard constantly.
Its performance is also so bad its the probably the only game on Series X that even VRR display can't smooth out.
Sure it looks beautiful but it feels like an unfinished early access game to me.
State of Decay 2 is a kind of survival simulator, that would be my favourite. Microsoft Flight Simulator is incredible. Jurassic Evolution 2 is nice, too.
@Chuffer Weird. Never had any crashes or performance issues with Flight Simulator on my Series X paired with an LG CX and VRR.
@awp69 We're running the exact same console and tv. I thought it may be because I had it installed from day one and after a lot of patching the install had maybe got messed up.
I recently tried a completely fresh download when the new Top Gun dlc was added but some how it was even more instable for me
Shame as I love flightsims, luckily I can play it PC but I would love to play it sitting on the sofa on the "big telly"
Apologies all, PowerWash was supposed to be in the poll but somehow got missed out!
@Markatron Thanks for the tag
I went with cities skylines and two point hospital but theHunter: Call of the Wild would be probably be my true favorite.
@Chuffer Strange, i'm playing on Series S and have only had one crash not long after launch and some minor issues, while not Series X quality the visuals are pretty great as well.
#1 spot - Flight Simulator
#2 - SnowRunner
Runner up - Train Sim World 2
Those feel like the only real simulators as well. City/park builders feel like their own sub-genre, same with sports sims, and the rest come off as joke meme games.
Flight sim is all around awesome. When I just started off working towards my pilot license I used flight sim for hours to practice comms with ATC. With added equipment it helped practicing taxiing and traffic patterns as well. We have a simulator at the flight school and it's amazing how close flight simulator is to a professional one.
@Chuffer ya must have a dodgy machine??? Runs perfectly for me.
@sjbsixpack My Xbox has played hundreds of games at this point (thanks Gamepass) and clocked up hundreds if not thousands of hours. No other games crash or are unstable in anyway except Flight Simulator.
@Chuffer i dunno then. Maybe delete it an re download???
@RedShirtRod you can fly? How close is the handling of a plane in Flight Sim to real life?
@sjbsixpack handling a plane is always harder on a simulator than in real life. You can feel when the plane is wanting to turn, hits of turbulence, and just normal action with the yoke in real life, not so much on a game. My first day we did a flight on a Glein Simulator and my instructor crashed landed. If you can keep a steady flight with Flight Sim then my opinion is you'll have a leg up on real life flying.
Disclaimer: my private is in a piper warrior and I don't dare assume I know everything about other single engine props.
I find that flight simulator is the best "simulator" as it goes to the furthest lengths to accurately simulate as much detail as possible, and has built upon decades of work, and unfathomable amounts of money invested in it's tech others could never match.
That said, however, my FAVOURITE of these simulators is Snowrunner. The novelty of flight sim wears off unless you're an aviation enthusiast, but with Snow Runner there's an actual game there with missions and progressions to unlock new parts, areas, and vehicles. That keeps me more engaged than flight sim does.
Flight Sim hands down and I play Snowrunner, Train Sim World and become strangely addicted to Power Wash Sim and House Flipper....
Bought myself the Hotas One and slowly flying myself around the world one short flight at a time...
